shoppe in progress, please wait.

it's the day before thanksgiving and chris is in homer gathering goodness of many varieties (that's my man). i'm so excited for his return! let me tell you; when chris can't find anything to eat, it's bad. it's blowing like crazy and raining to match (poor chris); in fact, the pond has returned and flotsam and jetsam are here too. hmmmm, i wonder how the well water will taste? i hope he makes it home without too much grocery loss over the side of the water taxi, jeez (just kidding moms, the seas aren't so bad). pack those boxes well lillo. others are concerned for the welfare of chris and the groceries too. you see he's also picking things up for friends; sorta' like the thanksgiving day santa. what would you call that? food dude? thanks man? (oop, sorry digression)

since it's been sorta winter (that is until this storm washed away all the beautiful white, fluffy stuff and left the dangerous-slickery-fall-on-your-butt icy mess of subdivision roads, trails, driveways and what-not) we've been enjoying winter mode. aka hibernation, sleeping, reading, general slow down of everything. big sigh. it's the time to pick away at inside projects.....mudding/taping, wiring, painting, aaah i'm sure there are more than that. ya' get the basic idea.

right now we have a beautiful 8-foot deck off two sides, just waiting for summer time (evening sunlit barbecues, music/knitting nights, growing plants in the hot sun and a reprieve from the flies). it's perfect for porch monkeys and dog lookouts (sorta' the same thing really). my guess is it will be covered by next winter.
the first time the snow slid it, i woke up thinking we were under attack. dramatics aside, it was a little disturbing. although it holds nothing to a winter wind storm from southeast, in the tent (remember when). if you can imagine life inside a drum, during a drumroll; you might get the idea. earplugs made it just bearable enough to sorta' sleep and worry about trees falling. so glad those days are over.

we also have the best stairs. they also serve as dog look outs. it's so nice to have trusty stairs, especially late at night when i get up to pee. at least the stairs i walk down are easy. here's chris's work on them.

gotta run, my sweetie just left homer! happy thanksgiving. eat well and be grateful.

Dude I think you are totally trying to steal spouse of the year from my hard-working ever-cooking man. Don't even! All that bitterness aside, he does rock. And he stopped at the Grog shop for us, so how can you say bad things about him for that. Plus he even plays with my kid.

XX Secret knitting in a few.
